Celebrating success on GCSE results day!

It was fantastic to see the positive reactions of so many of our Year 11 students this morning as they collected their GCSE and Vocational results. This success is the culmination of years of hard work on the part of SVHS students, brilliantly supported by teachers and families.

Once again, I'm delighted that every student attending school has achieved at GCSE level, many overcoming extraordinary barriers in order to do so. There were some exceptional individual performances this year, notably Holly Penberthy who achieved the highest average attainment and Suhayb Hafeez who achieved the highest Progress 8 score.

Success at GCSE has opened up some exciting opportunities for SVHS students and I'm delighted that many have achieved their first choice Post 16 pathways including further study at Askam Bryan College, Huddersfield New College, Mirfield College and Leeds College of Music.

Congratulations to all students, staff and families involved!
